Week 1 wraps up after putting on hundreds of miles and meeting hundreds of people!
The Collins for Senator "All of Maine" bus tour wraps the first week up today, and what a week it was!
We launched Tuesday in Bangor, and ended up traveling to Kittery and back, through scores of towns and meeting hundreds of people all over our state. Senator Collins traveled through Bangor, Hermon, Holden, Newport, and ended up at the New Balance plant in Skowhegan. More than 100 New Balance workers came out to cheer Senator Collins on, click below to watch the video:
On Wednesday, we started with a big breakfast at Simones Hot Dog Stand in Lewiston. We made stops in Hiram, Cornish, Porter, Limerick, Waterboro, Springvale, and ended the day with a huge reception in Sanford.
Thursday started out with delicious donuts at Congdon's in Wells, then on to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, where Senator Collins received the endorsement of three unions representing workers at the shipyard. Click below to watch the video:
We made stops in Saco, Scarborough, and Portland, before winding up the day with BIW shipbuilders at Byrne's Irish Pub in Bath.
Friday the bus tour made stops in Holden and Ellsworth and then on to the world famous Blue Hill Fair!
We roll out again next week and will keep going through all parts of the state up until election day in November. We hope to see you on the road!
