Collins: BIW to build first Zumwalt

Times Record - U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, announced today that the Navy will award Bath Iron Works with the contract to build the first DDG-1000 Zumwalt-class destroyer.
The Zumwalts are the next-generation destroyer that will eventually replace the Arleigh Burke destroyers currently being built in Bath.
