BANGOR, MAINE - The Collins for Senator campaign will report raising more than $877,000 for the first quarter of 2014, bringing the total raised for Senator Susan Collins’ reelection campaign to more than $4.5 million. The latest totals bring the campaign’s cash-on-hand to more than $3.6 million.
“We continue to be delighted by the outpouring of support for Senator Collins’ re-election,” said Sam A. Ladd III, Finance Chairman for the Collins for Senator Campaign. “From all over Maine, and from every state in our nation, supporters have made it clear that we need Susan Collins’ common-sense leadership in the Senate, now more than ever.”
In 2008, Susan Collins was reelected to the Senate with 62 percent of the vote. She won 482 of Maine’s 498 cities and towns and all of Maine’s 16 counties. Recently, ELLE Magazine named Senator Collins "one of the most powerful women in D.C." in recognition of bipartisan efforts to end the government shutdown last fall. And, the Center for the Study of the Presidency & Congress presented her with the Publius Award for her leadership and long record of accomplishment.
