SENATOR SUSAN COLLINS’ CAMPAIGN REPORTS STRONG FUNDRAISING QUARTER

Senator Collins to Report $2.3 Million Cash on Hand, nearly $1.3 Million this Quarter

PORTLAND, ME—Senator Susan Collins’s reelection campaign today released fundraising figures for the second quarter of 2007, which ended June 30th. The campaign announced today that it had raised more than $1.26 million for the quarter and that it has more than $2.3 million cash on hand. The quarter figure is believed to be a record for Maine political fundraising.

Senator Collins’ Chief of Staff Steve Abbott said, “Given that partisan groups from outside of Maine have already started running negative ads against Senator Collins, we know that this going to be an expensive campaign. This record setting quarter of fundraising reflects the strong support that Senator Collins has for her reelection effort. We are especially pleased with our cash on hand, which puts us on very solid footing for this early in the campaign.”

Collins for Senator will file its second quarter report on Friday.
