Bus Tour: Washington County wrap-up
Posted November 1st, 2008 by staffAfter spending time in downtown Calais, the Collins for Senator bus made a couple more stops before heading out to lunch. The first was in Pembroke at Morgan's Convenience Store and the second was at the Whiting Village Store. At both stops Senator Collins' supporters braved the wind and were on hand to welcome her to their wonderful towns. After these two exciting stops it was time for lunch at Helen's and the Blue Bird Ranch. Both restaurants serve delectable food that satisfied all.
Bus Tour: Washington County - Downtown Calais
Posted November 1st, 2008 by staffThe second stop of the day was downtown Calais for a hot breakfast at Bernardini's Restaurant. After coffee, cinnamon rolls and a few remarks from Senator Collins, we headed down Main Street. The Senator stopped in the Boston Shoe store, Kendall's Jewelry store and the Urban Moose. While the Senator browsed the stores and spoke with residents of Calais her supporters stood on the sidewalks and waved Collins for Senator signs. Our time in downtown Calais was a great addition to the morning.

Bus tour: Airline Snackbar in Beddington

Bus Tour: Hancock and Waldo Counties
Posted October 26th, 2008 by staffWith eleven days until election day Sen. Susan Collins set out on Friday for
a day of campaigning in Hancock and Waldo Counties. The day began with a
luncheon in Ellsworth. This was the final Women's Luncheon of the campaign
and it was a roaring success. More than 90 women joined Senator Collins at the
Holiday Inn in Ellsworth to enjoy a delicious lunch and share some thoughts
about the problems facing this country today. In her remarks to the group
the Senator discussed energy issues and the challenges facing our economy. After
lunch the Collins Bus headed for several stops in Waldo County. First was
Stockton Springs with stops are Perry' Store and Just Barb's Restaurant.
Then we traveled on to Searsport where we met some friends and supporters at
Anglers Restaurant, Tozier's Market and a quick walk down the Main Street.
Our final stop was in Searsmont with a visit to Patchwork Plus and the Old
Mill Diner. The Senator finished the day at the Maine Military Historical
Society Annual meeting where she received the Charles Dick Medal of Merit
Award.
It was a wonderful day of campaigning in some beautiful Maine communities.

Bus Tour: Mount Desert Island
Posted October 14th, 2008 by staffSaturday, Senator Collins and a bus full of her supporters spent the day on Mount Desert Island. The day began with a stop at the Maine Grocers Association Annual Fall Conference in Bar Harbor and continued at the Southwest Harbor Oktoberfest. It was a beautiful day to spend on MDI.
