The Maine Snowmobile Association Snowmobile Show

On Friday, Senator Collins stopped by the Maine Snowmobile Association's (MSA) Snowmobile Show at the Augusta Civic Center. The arena was packed with vendors associated with the snowmobile industry and snowmobilers themselves. Senator Collins was very excited to receive the endorsement of the Maine Snowmobile Association and to be apart of such a great event. The MSA issued the following statement.

"It would be hard for snowmobilers to find a better friend in the US Senate than Susan Collins. In her twelve years in office, Senator Collins has consistently supported snowmobile issues across the board. Collins supports increasing domestic oil production, and is currently co-sponsoring federal legislation for 'no net loss' of traditional uses of lands purchased in whole or part with federal funds. In addition, her accessible staff is always ready to track down problems, lend a hand and make things happen when dealing with the federal bureaucracy."

Another great weekend: Bowdoinham, Lisbon, Turner, Raymond, Lewiston, Windsor

Another great weekend. On Saturday, a large group of volunteers joined me as we marched in the Bowdoinham parade, ate lunch at the famed Italian restaurant Graziano's in Lisbon, campaigned along the main streets of Lisbon, picked delicious MacIntosh apples at Ricker Hill Orchards in Turner, and visited the town of Raymond. At the Turner farm, Jeff Timberlake talked with me about the joys and challenges of a farm that has been in his family since 1803.

Bus Tour: Mardens

On Monday afternoon Senator Collins stopped by Mardens in Waterville where she was able to surprise her constituents with an unexpected visit. She greeted the stores employees, spoke about energy issues, and was thanked by veterans for her hard work on military and veterans issues.

The Collins for Senator statewide bus tour continued Thursday with a stop in Gardiner.

The Maine Republican Convention

convention2.jpgThe Republican State Convention was a lot of fun as enthusiastic delegates and volunteers gathered at the Augusta Civic Center last weekend. A record number of volunteers signed up to work on the campaign this fall, and hundreds of supporters wore their red Collins for Senator T-shirts and put on the best demonstration I have ever seen!
