Bus Tour: York County - Kittery Trading Post

The Senator, who has kayaked her entire life, was excited to see the most recent kayak equipment and the latest kayak models. As she pursued the aisles in the trading post, she was able to talk with constituents about her support of the great outdoors.

Firefighters at shipyard roar approval for Sen. Collins
Fosters Daily Democrat- U.S. Senator Susan Collins stepped off a bus at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to the sound of dozens of cheering firefighters Friday when she kicked off a campaign push that saw her accepting the endorsement of thousands of the state's emergency responders.
The Professional Firefighters of Maine is among numerous police and fire organizations supporting Collins, a Republican, in her bid for a third term and the recent visit saw her traveling throughout the southern part of the Maine on a bus tour to accept their endorsement and thank them for their service.
Collins sounds alarm, touts support of first responders
SeacoastOnline.com-Before a sea of firefighters from across Maine wearing yellow T-shirts in support of her, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, stood at the gate of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Friday morning thanking them for their work.
"When people get in trouble, when they need a first responder, they don't dial 202, the area code for Washington, DC. They dial 9-1-1," she said, to great applause.

Posted September 5th, 2008 by staffOn the way to the first stop at the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard (PNSY) in Kittery the Collins for Senator Bus was joined by the International Association of Firefighters Motorcycle Club. The group of more than 20 motorcycles will be acting as escorts for the bus throughout the day. What an amazing site, a ton of yellow shirts on motorcycles roaring down Route 1!
