Susan Collins, 83-year-old WWII veteran Rene Gobeil recalled his days on the front lines during the Battle of the Bulge, which raged for almost six weeks in the winter of 1944 and 1945.At the ceremony Collins presented Gobeil, a resident of Biddeford, with eight medals, ranging from the Purple Heart to a WW II Victory medal.
