It has now been 114 days since Gideon has lifted a finger to help her constituents, or the people of Maine
Members of the press:
Data recently released detailing recipients of Senator Susan Collins' Paycheck Protection Program reveal that at least 33 businesses operating within Speaker Sara Gideon's House District qualified for loans, saving approximately 1,530 jobs.
Gideon, in contrast, has done absolutely nothing to help struggling businesses in her own district or across the state, using the last 114 days to campaign, and even vacation, while still pulling a paycheck as Speaker of the Maine House.
According to Chip Gray, a Gideon constituent and owner of the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, "We have had dozens of emails asking for support for her Senate run against Susan Collins, but nothing in the way of help dealing with the crisis we face today... Sara Gideon isn't helping. Susan Collins is."
While neglecting her responsibilities as Speaker of the Maine House, she has attempted to solicit funds from the same people she refuses to help.
Sara Gideon has proven that to her, COVID-19 and the economic fallout that has resulted is purely political, as shown in a recent ad where she lied about the PPP program, even though she was actually living off of it.
While Sara Gideon has done nothing, Senator Susan Collins has been hard at work, protecting the very employees and small businesses Speaker Sara Gideon has neglected for 114 days now.
