Collins’ PPP Supported 240,000 Maine Jobs, Including Gideon’s Husband’s
Gideon Even Called for More Program Transparency But Didn’t Disclose Husband’s Employer’s Loan
Members of the press:
Collins for Senator today released a new TV ad outlining Sara Gideon’s hypocrisy on the Paycheck Protection Program.
Senator Collins wrote the Paycheck Protection Program, which has supported 27,000 Maine businesses and 240,000 Maine jobs.
Sara Gideon criticized the program and called for additional transparency for loan recipients, but her husband’s law firm received a loan of up to $2 million -- and Gideon didn’t disclose that fact during her attacks on the program.
Yet another instance where Sara Gideon is saying one thing and doing the complete opposite.
Gideon has had a rough week.
-
Her duplicity on PPP has come to light.
-
Her inaction during COVID was highlighted by the fact that more than 1,500 jobs in her House district were saved by Collins’s PPP. During the pandemic, Gideon has done nothing, and certainly hasn’t saved any jobs.
-
In fact, she’s now at 115 days of inaction during COVID.
-
FactCheck.org declared another Gideon ad false, making it the third ad from Gideon’s team that’s been shot down by nonpartisan fact checkers.
-
Gideon also skipped 3 debates. She actually skipped one debate to fundraise with Tom Steyer, the billionaire California hedge fund manager who’s funding the “Defund the Police” movement.
